Where to eat in Boa Vista
Almost all the restaurants are in Sal Rei, between the square and the seafront. Outside town you can eat at the beach clubs and hotels on the beaches, or in the small village places that are a classic stop on 4×4 tours.

What to order
Dishes to try
The national dish: maize and beans slow-cooked with meat or fish. In the morning it is eaten “refogada”, fried up in a pan with an egg.
Tuna, wahoo, grouper and lobster come into Sal Rei harbour every day. Try the tuna tartare and carpaccio.
In the inland villages you can eat kid goat and goat’s cheese made on the island.
